Revelation
For many years I never paid too much attention to the Book of Revelation, because most of the Churches I went to never talked about it too much. They would say it was too complicated to understand, and for the most part it was avoided. But one day I started reading it and the very first few verses really stood out and sparked my interest even more. The book was written by John on the Island of Patmos around 80 or 90 A.D. He starts out by saying; " The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show to his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his Angel unto his servant John. " And I thought to myself, If God sent this to John by an Angel to show to his servants the things that were going to happen, then why the big secret. I am a servant and I want to know.Then I remembered, there are powers and principalities that do not want you to know things like that because you might want to go tell someone else about it and they might want to be Saved so they wouldn't go through the Tribulation. And satan certainly doesn't want that, does he? I know that if he can convince Christians to be quiet and not say anything to other people about Jesus and the Word of God, then he has accomplished his goal. And believe me, A lot of Christians don't say a word to anyone. They are doing exactly what satan wants them to do, being silent. That should be proof that we are at war with a very deadly enemy. He does everything he can to Steal, Kill, and Destroy anything that has to do with God, especially you, because you are made in the image of God and he hates that. Everytime he sees you, he sees Gods Image.
So with that said, I want to share with you a guideline that I use that should help you read the book of Revelation. By doing so, you will be able to read the Book for yourself and have a good understanding of this Prophecy. It is a book that will send chills down your spine when you see what John is talking about. To begin with, you need to know that God did not give this book to John so it would not be read. God wants it read or he would not have said; " Blessed is he that reads and they that understand. " It is not that hard to understand if you read it in it's context and don't try to over analyze the verses. I believe it means what it says, and says what it means. Example; If the verse said there will be an Earthquake that kills a lot of people, then I believe there will be an Earthquake that will do just that. ( Rev. 11 : 13 ) There are a lot of Earthquakes in Revelation and they are all significant events and should not be taken lightly. They are only part of the many Judgements of God being passed on to a world that would not turn to him before the Rapture of the Believers.
The only thing I would Stress at this point is that the events taking place in the book are not in order as you read them. A lot of them are basically happening at the same time, as I will explain as we proceed. In other words, the entire book of Revelation takes place over a Seven Year period of time, and that is very important to know because it will help you to see the Tramatic Devestation that will come to pass for those Left Behind to face it. 7 years is a rather short period of time. There are those that think the Church ( the Body of Believers in Christ ) will go through the Tribulation years described in Revelation, and some think the Believers will be Raptured at the Middle of Tribulation. However, we Believe the Rapture will happen before the Tribulation starts. It's called Pre-Trib Believers. Please read the Rapture article for more on that subject. The Rapture actually Starts the clock as far as the 7 year Tribulation is concerned. In the Rapture article we showed the verses that told us the anti- christ would appear after the Rapture takes place and how he will establish a 7 year peace agreement with Israel. So lets look at some of the things that take place when that starts.
The very moment after the Rapture happens, the entire world will be in total chaos and destruction because of the massive accidents everywhere. Trains, Cars, Trucks, and Aircraft will have killed Tens of Thousands of people, because the Christian Drivers will suddenly be gone. No-one will know what has happened at first and a lot of speculation will be put forth in an effort to explain the vanishings and the accidents world wide. Looting and killings will begin pretty quickly, and people will seem to have lost all hope because their loved ones are gone, some vanished instantly right before their Eyes, and they can't explain it. Some might commit suicide because they know they have been Left Behind because they did not accept Christ as their family members did. Any way, it will be a very Terrible and Horrible time as bloody and mangled bodies are lying everywhere. Fires and explosions will be rampant. All this occurs in just the first day. The anti-christ and the Judgements Of God have not even begun yet. I would not want to be left behind to witness the first Hour of that day. Some Great Movies that depict this are; Vanished, and The Gathering. You can get these films in our Bookstore or any Christian store in your area. Watch The Gathering first as it is mostly about the Rapture and Vanished is about the following few weeks.
As time passes the anti-christ comes on the scene on a platform of peace and seems to have all the answers. The whole world will fall in love with him and follow him as he will perform amazing things before the people. The people that realize the Truth and become Christians will be tracked down and Killed because they will not accept his mark of allegiance. ( The mark of the beast ) This mark will be used to control the food and supplies through out the world. ( Rev. 13 : 16 - 18 ) The technology for this control is avilable right now and moving rapidly toward that time. Something you should look into is things like Digital Angel, and you will see how it fits into the picture. If anyone accepts this mark, he denies the Lord, and his soul is condemned forever, and he will suffer greatly in the remaining time he is alive.
The time of the anti-christ will bath the world in Blood as he rules for the 7 years of Tribulation. But this is a time of Gods Wrath and his Judgements are being poured out on the entire world. There are Three sets of judgements and 6 - 7 judgements per set. Two of these sets are given to the world and the people in the first 3 and 1/2 years of Tribulation. So as you read about the Seal Judgements and the Trumpet Judgements, understand that the anti-christ is trying to control and rule the world at the same time. I point this out because you will read about anti-christ after the Trumpet judgements but remember, he has been in power shortly after the Rapture. You will also read about the Two Witnesses. These two men also came into being after the Rapture to Preach the Gospel and and bring about the salvation of many people and the conversion of the 144,000 Jews into Christianity. They will also be Preachers of the Gospel. This all happens in the first half of Tribulation.
Then anti-christ will defile the Temple by proclaiming to be God and that will start the second 3 and 1/2 years in motion. He will sustain a mortal wound, but will be ressurected in mockery of our Lord, but the world won't see it that way. The people will be overjoyed as he comes back to life. What they don't know is that satan himself is the one taking the place of his servant the anti-christ. The next few years are called the GREAT TRIBULATION. Gods Wrath is poured out in the form of the 7 Bowl Judgements. These are more Powerful and more Destructive than the others and will lead to the Battle of Armegedon and of course the end of Tribulation and the Return of Jesus physically, with all the believers.
As you read Revelation, keep in mind that the 7 years ends with the return of the Lord, known as ( Christs Second Coming ). He will physically set his feet down on the Mount of Olives and a huge earthquake follows. Do not confuse this with the Rapture as he does not touch the earth when he catches us up. The end of Revelation is when Christ will Return and establish the Thousand year reign on earth after he Destroys satans works and all who followed him, and satan will be bound. Then at the end of the Thousand years, satan will be loosed for a short time to decieve the nations once more, and then comes the Ressurection and the Final Great White Throne Judgement of God. This is known as the second death for those who refused to accept Christ as their Savior. A phrase that I heard once, about being Born Again goes like this; ( Born Once , Die Twice --- Born Twice , Die Once ) Every one is appointed to die once in this world, and without Christ, you face the second eternal death of the spirit. But if you are Born again ( Spiritual Birth by accepting Christ ) then you will live forever with the Lord in Heaven.
Once again, if you read Revelation in it's context, a whole new reality begins to take shape as to what it will be like during that time. Massive Destruction, Millions Dying, Disease, Starvation Worldwide like has never been before, and Pure Evil everywhere, because Christians are gone and only wickedness is left, with the exception of those who come to know Christ during that time. To give just a glimpse of it, one of the most horrible things to happen that I can imagine is when the Locusts sting the unbelievers and torture them for five months. It will be so bad that it tells us that men will be begging for death but they cannot die. It even describes these creatures in detail. My friend, if you think these verses are describing something different like helicopters, or something other than what it says, then you might have a problem believing the word of God. Let me ask you this. If God could Divide the Red Sea for Israel and destroy Egypts army, If he can bring Fire down from Heaven for Elijah, If he could destroy Sodom and Gomorah, If he could destroy the World with a Flood in the days of Noah, What makes you think he won't allow Creatures like these to torture man for 5 months? And that is just ONE of the Judgements.

Do not Reserve a Seat
I cannot begin to describe the HORROR that await the people that will be Left Behind. I hope this article has given you a guideline on reading this book. The Lord wants you to read it and understand the terrible day that is rapidly approaching. When will it be? Nobody knows for sure, but it is the belief of this Ministry that it can happen right now. Besides, is it worth the Gamble to wait and not accept Christ as your savior right now. I think you should ask Jesus into your life A.S.A.P., like right now. Do it before you read Revelation and the Spirit of God will open your eyes to the horror that you will escape. Please my dear friend, don't wait. TIME is running out. I hope this reaches a lot of folks before the Rapture, but if you are reading this and Tribulation has begun, turn to the Lord if you can. You will more than likely be killed for your belief but have Faith because what awaits us in Heaven is far better than anything of this world. May God be your Strength in you Troubles.
